Weather – two words – incredibly challenging……

The dog work was of a very high standard and wonderful to watch.  The stewards set the standard from the start with long cross retrieves in undulating rape and in a howling gale. The trial continued in the rape fields and ended with a mock drive with the final six dogs sent from a high distant send point over a very deep brook into a second field for their penultimate retrieves. The final retrieve was a treat to watch as each dog was sent back over the brook, across the second field to a series of blind retrieves in woodland – all this in the worst weather of the day.

Thank you to The Lyndon Estate’s gamekeeper Sarah for looking after us so very well at this lovely location. Finally, a very big thank you to all the helpers who stood out in the gales all day throwing game - we couldn't put on such special days without you :)
